This behind-the-scenes Lincoln Continental VR experience pulls you into the creative minds of Director Arev Manoukian and J.Lee Williams, and Technical Director Fezz Stenton.
In order to step-up their game on simulated test drives, Arev and J.Lee both unpacked their film backgrounds to create a fantastical experience aimed to stimulate emotional response.
The quality of immersion sprouted from artistic elements of elegant dance movements, sublime auditory engineering—made possible by Occupied’s Graham Douglas, and special effects techniques rarely seen in VR.
“We are trying to make something that is universally appealing and that does have a reaction where [the viewer] feel[s] that they experience something they never have before. We’re not trying to just sit you behind the wheel of a car and push you down the street. We’re really trying to tell you a story, give you a world to explore and push the medium of VR.” said Stenton.
The concept was to communicate a narrative reflective of the Continental model design itself. The meticulous details, flow of scenic transformations to spatialize audio captures what it means to be driving this luxury vehicle.
Manoukian and Williams created a dream space to elevate the seamless feel of the Continental model, a passive cinematic experience with each sensation taking turns at the wheel.
